Stefan Stern is a journalist and author. He has over 30 years' experience of writing about leadership and management. He was the Financial Times' management columnist between 2006 and 2010, and has also worked for the BBC and Management Today magazine. He still writes for the FT and also The Guardian, Prospect magazine and The Conversation.

 

He is the author of three books: "Myths of Management -what people get wrong about being the boss" Kogan Page 2017 (Prof Cary Cooper was the co-author); "How to be a better leader" Pan Macmillan(Bluebird) 2019; and most recently "Fair or Foul - the Lady Macbeth Guideto Ambition" Unbound 2024.

 

Since 2010 he has been Visiting Professor in managementpractice at Bayes Business School (formerly Cass), University of London. He isa Fellow of the RSA. He is the co-presenter of a podcast on the future of work,The Nowhere Office (with Julia Hobsbawm).
